The article of Carole Anne Grayson, written about “brand Malala”, who is the daughter of a Pakistani, owner of schools, global of education of the UN. Malala was subject to shooting by a Taliban terrorist. She was chosen to be the facial advertising of media as well as many companies.

Five perspectives were identified in this article. She highlighted the emotional perspective too obvious toward Malala’s incident, regardless of the other girls present in this incident.  She showed how fanaticism leads to harm. Although, fear and pain was dominant on all the girls who were suffering from Taliban’s violence, as well as social discrimination, like Malala.

Her story was discussed on social awareness. The discrimination of levels in one society is the result of ignorance. They consider themselves as they are supporting the idea of “gender justice”, but in reality they don’t. Malala’s incident has taken a huge impact in society because her father was famous.  However, there are many women who are also victims of this violence, but who cares about them? This was the main question that Grayson asked for in her text.

The author wants to show how people lost the logical thinking. Reasonably, every terrorist like Taliban should be damned with their crimes and every single woman who is either suffering or in danger of their crimes should be cured and protected by society. Also, men in society must reject the division between men and women since women are one of the main factors in society. They are very active and productive in their work which affects the overall social life in every aspect. Unfortunately, our world applies the contrary. There are innocent people who pay the price of the social discrimination similar to the other girls in malala’s story. Until now, we have a lot of women who are suffering from the same situation, and no one is looking for them. Many who claim to support justice has disregarded women who were subject to violence and terrorism and are unheard about.

Furthermore, Malala should not be used as a diversion to distract away from other women subject to fanaticism; this is in addition to using her as means of propaganda by media and large companies.

Finally, Grayson requested several questions related to ethics in society. Malala’s story was given an immense media coverage. These questions apply only for women who come from high class families. However, other girls/women are waved since they don’t possess a power or a certain level in society. This is a social discrimination of levels and genders in the one community which is not acceptable logically or emotionally or ethically.

  1. you dont clarify what is social, emotional...
    social: very surface level
emotional: also true what about sarcasm and rage
rhetorical: I dont know where this is
logical: it almost feels like you are putting your ideas into the text
    ethical: good
