The text "The Revolution Will Not Be Polite: The Issue of Nice
Versus Good" by Rachael is a blog post that deals with social justice. In
fact Rachael difined social justice as“destroying sustematic marginalsation and
privilege”. She claims that being nice
is different than beig good, that we grew up on the fundemental
misunderstanding of the difference between niceness and goodness. Being “good” and being “nice” are two
different path. IF you choose the “nice” one that doesn’t mean you are good. As
the author said you might be nice in front of people but your intention might
not be that nice. Furthermore “Manners”
and “acting nice” are usually misunderstood. what is seen as "nice"
is cultural and often even class-dependent, and therefore the "manners"
that matter get to be defined by the oppressor .On the other hand, social
justice stands to fight the oppression caused by the privileges of Man over
women . in fact men have accessibility to social, economic and political
advantages and why people are given rights and opportunities over others: And
the oppression comes again . Oppression is not the fact of hurting someone’s
feelings, It is the fact of”hurting”, dening someone’s rights due to their
social status in our hierarchical based society. In conclusion, social justice
stands against oppression of any kind and the author using social justice is
making the difference between being nice and being good.
Check moodle for your grade. The main idea is too broad. DON'T QUOTE IN SUMMARY. There are parts of this summary that are too close to the original. She doesn't just specify women. Good conclusion.
